Science Fair
Science fair is a strong tradition in the Monte Vista schools. Students get to start young by immersing themselves into projects starting in 4th grade. Students get to present their projects during the school science fair to high school judges and then move on to the regional science fair, which is held at Adam's State University. Bill Metz Elementary has won the "big school" award 20 out of 21 years at the regional science fair. Many students win awards and prize money; however, the most valuable part of being in science fair is the learning experience. Students learn how to be persistent and creative problem solvers.
